Happy Endings

I read a news article where all of the animals available for adoption at the Cleveland-Bolivar County Animal Shelter were listed on Petfinder.com, a service that connects potential owners to homeless animals via the Internet.

The article stated that last month, a load of shelter puppies found new homes after being located on Petfinder.com by an animal rescue organization from New York state.

This is a really great site for pet adoption. They have lots of information, hints, fun stuff, photos, and much, much more.

On Petfinder (PetFinder.com) You Can:

--Search 242,567 adoptable pets with our advanced search.

--Locate shelters and rescue groups in your area.

--Browse our resource library to learn more about pet care.

--Post classified ads for lost or found pets, pets wanted, and pets needing homes.

--Sign up to be a volunteer to help your local shelter or rescue group.

You might take a look at this helpful site. We feel any site that helps find homes for orphan pets is really worth bookmarking!

Great T-Shirts

Someone called my attention to a new website with some really great doggie
t-shirts. PlayRuff claims "The rules, we didn't make 'em, we don't play by them"

Not only do they have cute comic dog designs relaxing but they have the dogs playing basketball, football, futbol, golf, soccer and more.

These could be the "hard rock cafe" designs of the future. Show everyone that you are a true dog lover!!

You can learn something every day.......

I was surfing through Stumble! when I came across a site called "The Tough Pups Gazette". Their front page immediately caught my attention with headlines
"25 Weird Facts You Never Knew About Dogs." It started: You may be an expert in the canine arena, but I’m still willing to bet that at least one thing on this list will be news to you! Sure enough the item that caught my eye was:
#5. Three dogs survived the sinking of the Titanic - a Newfoundland, a Pomeranian, and a Pekingese.

They were sure right. There was a whole bunch of things on that list that I didn't know, of course I don't pretend to be an expert in the canine arena either. For some really interesting facts and to test your dog expertise check out this neat site at:

Music for Animals???

The Laurel Canyon Animal Company - the only record label in the world dedicated exclusively to creating music about, for and with animals. These songs make you smile, they make you think and you can't listen without singing along. Laurel Canyon Animal Company has done the impossible … taking the essence of what it means to be a dog lover and set it to music! Even better yet this music has been used in animal shelters to calm dogs. It has been found that anxiety and stress in travel can also be decreased.

The Laurel Canyon Animal Company states there's science behind the music. More than 200 dogs were selected nationwide to participate in canine focus groups to determine the animal's preferences in music and content. The dogs' responses were used as guides for the creation of music and lyrics.

So if you and/or your dog are stressed out, a little anxious or nervous try out "Songs to Make Dogs Happy" which is available online at www.petcds.com or by calling (323) 822-1764.
