Good Puppy Parenting

Denise Flaim of NEWSDAY has written an article for austin360,entitled "How to be a Good Puppy Parent". She says if your dog is to be well-adjusted you will need to know some of the musts of having a puppy. She discusses pedicures, bite inhibition, socialization, don't be a wimp, leash manners, and more. A lot of her ideas are crucial to being a new puppy parent.

Why Do Puppies Do That?

Jim Lee of the Gannett Wisconsin Newspapers has reviewed a neat new book titled "Why do they do that?" The book is by Tom Davis, 50, a veteran writer, dog handler and dog lover who lives in Green Bay, and he's passing the information along in his latest book, a 95-page collection of answers to "curious puppy behavior." Spend a few minutes and read Jim's review, after all you might finally find the answer to why your puppy is always doing that.

Have a great summer with Fido

Have you wanted to go to the beach and take the dog along but not sure where you could go that would accept Fido? Pet Friendly Travel is a great site that will tell you about some of the beaches that will accept your dog.

As they state, in order to keep friendly beaches you need to keep your dog on a leash or under voice control and always clean up after your dog.

This site also lists pet friendly campgrounds US and Canada, parks, malls and even pet friendly restaurants. Warm up your printer, pick your site and have a great summer.

Dog Figurine Collector???

Do you collect dog figurines or have a relative who collected them? Country Home's July issue features the magazine's annual list of the top 10 collectibles, and folk-art dogs made the cut.

Editors and antiques dealers base the list on what they see at shows and markets, what is popular out there and what people are buying. The editors also lean toward items that are not completely collected up, and those that dealers expect will continue to grow in popularity over the next year.
