About the Australian Terrier An Australian Terrier is a small breed of dog and is a member of the terrier family. The "Aussie" as it is called for short, has a personality of a working terrier and makes a great companion dog. The Aussie was the first native-bred Australian dog to be show and first recognized overseas. Its origins are not certain but its immediate ancestor was developed n the United Kingdom in early 1800 from British and Scottish terriers. Some of these breeds are extinct but Aussie has a mixed ancestry of Dandie Dinmont, Manchester, Irish and Cairn terriers. Advertise your site or business here..
