About the Bichon Frise The Bichon Frise is a small dog that is the size of a large domestic cat. They are very similar to a poodle and popular as a pet. Bichons are intelligent and inquisitive. They are also very energetic and enjoy long walks. These dogs like being near their owner and make great lap dogs. They can be jealous of other family animals but are great with children. This breed can suffer from ear infections and skin problems. They have existed since the Middle Ages. Although their exact origins are unknown it is believed they originated in the Meditarranean region. They began as French royalty court favorites, and also later trained to be circus dogs.
