About the Golden Retriever
Golden Retrievers are a relatively modern and very popular dog. Developed as a retrieving dog for hunting wild foul, they have become a great family dog. They are easy to handle, very tolerant and don't require very much except regular exercise, food and veterinary check ups. They get along well with people and other dogs. They will bak when startled but don't make good watchdogs.

Golden Retrievers are active and fun loving besides being patient and can sit quietly for hours in a hunting blind. They also have a great love for cool water and are great swimmers.

They have intelligence and tolerance for children. They are great dogs to use in hospitals or retirement homes. They love to play retrieving a thrown stick, tennis ball or frisbee. This breed was originally developed in Scotlandb
