The Irish Wolfhound is a breed of hound bred to hunt. These dogs are the tallest breed of dog in the world. They have a swift pace and good sight. The wolfhound is a gentle and friendly dog and very calm in the house.

This breed is very old and possibly from the 1st century BC or earlier. During times of conflict with England, they were often trained to take armored knights off of their horses.
