About the Maltese
You have to know this small breed of hairy dog does not shed! They are very energetic and often have a wild outburst of physical activity.They are intelligent dogs that learn quickly and were bred for companionship. They do not being left along for long hours. This breed is good natured and may be intolerant of small children or other dogs. Because of their small size, Maltese dogs are not a good choice for families with small children because they can easily be injured.

Some say the origin of this dog goes back two or three thousand years. It is also thought the Maltese might have descended from the Spitz type dog found among the Swiss Lake dwellers.
