About the Pekingese
The Pekingese is an ancient breed of toy dog with its origins in China. They were a favored imperial pet, good natured and happy who love family environments. They have very delicate eyes. They were considered a guardian spirit as they resembled Chinese Lions.

This breed has hardly changed over the 2000 years it has been in existance. They are stubborn and jealous. They don't always come when called and can be aggressive, especially with other dogs. They are known to be a one-person dog and aren't really good with children, who they often see as a rival. They can be good with kids if they are healthy and well-trained but most people don't train them well enough.

They can have eye issues and breathing problems. Recent DNA analysis confirms the peke breed is one of the oldest breeds of dog. Their history is ancient and very interesting
